Jonathan Hanegan I was born in Denver, Colorado to Ron and Joye Hanegan. I grew up at the Northwest Church of Christ in Westminster, Colorado where I attended Hyland Christian School. Upon my graduation from high school, I moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where I attended Oklahoma Christian University. I double-majored in Missions and Spanish. While in college, I served on campaigns to St. Louis, Memphis, México, Perú and Venezuela. After I graduated I went to Brazil before moving to Venezuela. |
I first came to Venezuela as a part of the H.I.M. (Helpers in Missions) Program through the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, Oklahoma. After completing my two-year apprenticeship, I began receiving support from the Northside Church of Christ in Wichita, Kansas. Since my arrival in Venezuela I have worked in a number of different areas including: preaching, teaching, youth camps and seminars, evangelistic campaigns, music ministry and children’s ministry among others. I have also been blessed to work closely with several congregations in Colombia. In addition to my work in Venezuela and Colombia, I have visited and served in the following countries as well: Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. I count myself blessed to be involved in such a work. I have been shaped by these experiences, by the people I have met and what they have taught me along the way. I am not the same person I was when I graduated college. I thank God for the blessing to be His ambassador and I pray that each day as I live, I might reflect God’s glory to those around me.
