The Mission in Argentina

Sunday

New Land, New Opportunity

“I have traveled throughout South America and very few countries have placed such a special burden on my heart like Argentina.

Over the past year and a half I have been praying a lot for future opportunities to serve in the Lord’s church in South America. I did my fair share of research, I interviewed missionaries, I packed my bags and visited new places. Every time I would visit a new place I would try to imagine myself working full-time in that place. I tried to analyze the needs of the church and the country as a whole and I would ask myself if I could be useful there. Now I believe God has showed me where He wants me to serve.

I call Argentina the Land of Opportunity precisely because there is so much potential for the work there. The work is relatively small. There are only 17 congregations in all of Argentina. Many of these congregations only have eight to ten people every Sunday.

Lord willing, I will finish up my work in Caracas, Venezuela and on March 1, 2011 I will move to Buenos Aires, Argentina in order to begin serving the church there full time. I will focus on serving the Caballito church in Buenos Aires as well as different congregations throughout the country. I will also serve with the Argentine Bible Institute (IBICA in Spanish, Instituto Bíblico de las Iglesias de Cristo en la Argentina). There are many young people in Argentina who want to prepare themselves for further service to the Lord. I pray that I might be a part of their preparation for more effective service in the Kingdom!

Please pray for this exciting new opportunity!
